If the copy you own is the Complete Edition I've read you can just go ahead and register the CD key for that onto Steam to get a free Steam copy so you might want to try that out. Otherwise, BossDweeb's suggestion may work.
You won't need a no-CD fix though, as apparently the retail version, once patched, has no disc check. Thanks for that. I was thinking this, but wasn't sure as I tend to download patches and fixes before. In this case I had a noCD for the main game, but I just now moved the original age. I may have to check if my Asian Dynasty expansion has a higher version patch than what I've used as. Have you verified this? There are not very many games that can be redeemed for.
