What is a wifi catcher button

Replies 7. Hi, Please try updating the Dell quickset. Hi, Did you update the quickset as suggested yesterday? Send us the screenshot of which lights you are referring to. The wifi catcher led on the right side will just flash once when the network is available.

The wifi led will be on all the time, if the wifi switch is on. Post Reply. Top Contributor. Dell Support Resources. Latest Solutions.

I've replied to him and re-iterated that my problem is ONLY with the catcher, and that the wi-fi itself works fine. Watch this space. Thanks Kai. KaiConfuzzled , Sep 1, Chaps Latest update ; response from the Dell tech support guy saying that the wi-fi catcher is not supposed to work when the laptop is switched off.

Clearly he is mistaken. I think he thinks I have an inspiron - I've reminded him its a Studio. I have responded to him with a referral and quote to the manual as at the top of this thread and the link to the dell page.

Lets see what he says now. To be fair, the manual does not specifically say "with the machine switched off" but I think its fairly obvious, if it was on you wouldn't need to view the status of the light. Keep you posted Kai. KaiConfuzzled , Sep 2, I am having the same problem its really annoying I would find it handy cuz I take it almost everywhere I go but oh well I hope it just a Bios problem and that it can get fixed.

Replies: 1 Views: ZaZ Dec 27, The following is the chain of events that took place, leading me to where we are now:.

The problem is when I am at work. The machine just cannot detect the WiFi in the office. I have checked everything, including the router settings, all other machines in the office including desktops, smartphones and tablets all get on the net through the WiFi fine. The machine was unable to find the WiFi signal at work right from the beginning, even before I update the anti-virus.

That was what I noticed when I first turned it on in the office. I am praying that after Windows Update is complete, the issue will go away.

However, something tells me that the issue will remain post - Windows Update. I will update you when it's done. It is my absolute pleasure to inform you that after the completion of Windows Update, the machine detected the WiFi signal in the office. I can now connect to the net wirelessly at work. Hope to hear from you soon. Regards, Andrew. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
